Our Global Advisory Council is comprised of acknowledged and accomplished public and private sector leaders who provide insight and guidance to our management.
Advisors are visionary experts in policy, health, corporate responsibility and similar areas. They focus on:
- The role of business in society.
- Public/private partnerships that foster well-being and leverage our expertise and reach.
- Shared Value initiatives in responsible drinking, environment, and community-building.
- Emerging health and societal trends.
Council members offer their independent perspectives in strategic dialogues with our business leaders. We’ve asked Council members to challenge our thinking, help us develop prudent public policy, and provoke us toward constructive action on societal issues.

Global Advisory Council Members
Former Prime Minister, Canada
Jean Chrétien was Canada’s 20th Prime Minister from 1993 through 2003, and has served in leadership roles across many of Canada’s key ministries, including Finance; Industry, Trade and Commerce; National Revenue; Indian Affairs; Treasury Board; Justice; Energy, Mines and Resources; Francophone Affairs; External Affairs, and Social Development.
While Prime Minister, Mr. Chretien stressed balanced budgets, national unity, a strengthened place for Canada in the world, social reform and humanitarian initiatives. Mr. Chretien was first elected to the House of Commons in 1963.
Mr. Chrétien is a Companion of the Order of Canada, co-president of the InterAction Council, and was awarded the Order of Merit by Her Majesty Elizabeth II. He is currently counsel at Dentons Canada LLP.
Founder, Cherie Blair Foundation for Women
Wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, leading lawyer and committed campaigner for women’s rights, Mrs. Blair set up the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women to help women in developing economies build businesses, so they can contribute to their economies and have a stronger voice in their societies.
She is a member of the International Center for Research on Women’s Leadership Council, Ambassador for the GSMA Women Programme, Honorary Vice President of Barnados, President of the Loomba Foundation, Ambassador for Scope, Trustee of Africa Justice Foundation, Vice-Chair of the US Secretary of State’s International Council for Women’s Business Leadership and Honorary Chair of the World Justice Project.
Mrs. Blair was awarded a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her service to women’s issues and to charity in the United Kingdom and overseas as well as the Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill medal “in recognition of high ideals and courageous actions.”

Gilberto Dimenstein is a journalist, educator and community activist, who has won journalism and literature awards in Brazil for his investigative reporting on social issues.
Mr. Dimenstein is the creator of Catraca Livre, a digital innovation showing how cities can be more sustainable and inclusive. It was celebrated as one of the 100 most important digital innovations for social change.
Mr. Dimenstein has worked with Ambev, our Brazilian subsidiary, on
Catraca Livre and was one of the consultants for Responsible Youth, a
company project focused on preventing drinking among young people.Mr.
Dimenstein has won the National Human Rights Award, the International
Children's Peace Prize from UNICEF, and was named one of the most
influential Brazilians by Época magazine.
Co-Founder, One Young World
Honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader, David Jones is a proponent of corporate responsibility and social change, and The Guardian’s 2013 Sustainable Business Leader. Mr. Jones is co-founder of One Young World (OYW), a nonprofit group that provides young people with a global platform for effecting positive change.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Jones was the youngest global CEO in the history of advertising, heading both Havas and Havas Worldwide.
Mr. Jones has also worked closely with David Cameron and the UK Conservative Party, and is the creator of the Social Business Idea® and author of Who Cares Wins: Why Good Business Is Better Business. He is a member of the American Advertising Federation’s Hall of Achievement.
Former Chief Medical Editor, NBC News
Dr. Nancy Snyderman is former NBC News Chief Medical Editor for NBC News reporting for “Nightly News with Brian Williams” and “TODAY.” Dr. Snyderman has garnered several of the industry’s most distinguished honors including Emmy’s, DuPont, Edward R. Murrow, and Gracie awards.
She has reported on wide-ranging topics affecting all strata of society and she has reported from many of the world’s most troubled areas.
Dr. Snyderman’s medical degree is from University of Nebraska and her residency was at the University of Pittsburgh. She is a New York Times bestselling author, having written five books. She also writes a monthly column for AARP magazine.
MBChB MPH Executive Director, Vitality Institute
Dr. Derek Yach is a leading global health expert. A former Professor of Global Health at Yale University and Executive Director for Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health of the World Health Organization, Dr. Yach has led a range of transformational global health programs with some of the world’s leading non-profit organizations and companies. Dr. Yach is currently the Executive Director of the Vitality Institute, a global research organization linked to Discovery Holdings working to strengthen the evidence base around health promotion in order to ensure healthy longevity.
Dr. Yach serves on the advisory boards of the Clinton Global Initiative, the New York Academy of Sciences, the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Aging, Cornerstone Capital and the Lancet’s Planetary Health Commission.
His degrees include an MBChB from the University of Cape Town, BSc (Hons Epi) from the University of Stellenbosch, an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a DSc (Honoris Causa) from Georgetown University.
